1999 Peru ProSolo
(As originally posted to the Talon Digest)
Peru was very good to me last year, being the race that launched my "Pro" career, and I had high hopes going in. I was still smarting from the double spins the week before though, and drove far too tentatively the first day, never really turning the wick up until day 2. My Pro class (Pro 2) is much faster than ESP, and the only way a Talon will ever be able to win is for the car to be driven flawlessly - there's no room for playing Mr Cautious, and I got CREAMED.
6th on 6, DFL. Ick, lesson learned.
