Hudz Brake Hood Covers Review
This modification was pure bling factor - the bike looked great with red bar tape, but the black shinamo hoods looked out of place. so I picked up a set of Hudz silicone replacement hood covers, in red. The color match with the bar tape is very close and makes the front end look a little more thought out.
The Hudz are made of a soft silicone rubber. the profile is very similar to the stock Shinamo hoods so I didn't notice a difference in hand comfort. They do have an extra "finger bump" on the underside but I haven't found it makes much difference.
They do tend to pick up a little bit of the black dye from my gloves, but that cleans right off.
As a way to change the colour of the hoods and bling up the bike, these work with no tradeoff. Recommended.
